The Model United Nations program is basically a model of the actual United Nations. Every so often there are conferences that we attend in order to debate world policies and politics. This winter a few select students from Chandler High School will be attending a Model United Nations Conference at Harvard University.
In addition to the Harvard University conference there are conferences that have to do with many other Universities and Community Colleges in the valley. Students who attend these conferences gain a valuable experience in foreign policies and diplomatic debate.
The experience that is gained from the conferences are extremely valuable. It is a unique situation to be able to debate the topics that effect the world from a view that is not the view of the United States. Students can come away from a conference feeling as if they have learned more than just debate skills; but students learn more of what is going on in the world today from a more objective view.
The club is currently participating in a series of fundraisers in order to pay the fees to attend the many conferences throughout the year. Therefore we are asking for donations which are tax refundable for our club. Thank You Very Much.
